
BPO industry in India has today become a growth engine for the economy, contributing substantially to an increase in the GDP and exports. The BPO industry has achieved staggering growth in the last 10 years – added 5 million jobs and USD 15 billion in revenues. The domestic BPO segment has continued its strong performances over the past few years, growing by 22 per cent over FY2009, to reach INR 108 billion, driven by large deals in the telecom and BFSI space. The domestic IT-BPO industry in India is estimated to increase to 65 billion US dollars by 2020.
